Eldoret Happy Church had its humble beginnings at Eldoret Cinema in June 1991.
The ministry was started by Rev. Boniface N. Runji and his wife, Pastor Catherine W. N. Runji.
They are both involved in regular employment in addition to the church work.
Evangilistic and discipleship strategies were put in place which have seen the church grow from about ten (10) people on the first Sunday to over five hundred (500) people today. As the work grew, branches were started in Eldoret town and its environs. Boniface and Catherine directly oversee Eldoret Happy Church (City Centre) and City Harvest Centre (Pioneer Estate).
Eldoret Happy Church is part of the Happy Church Ministries International, member of Kenya Evangelical Alliance. This is a Charismatic/Pentecostal congregation with lively worship.
The church is administered by the Pastoral Team composed of Boniface and Catherine Runji supported by a board of elders and deacons.
Rev. Boniface worked at a managerial level with a flour milling company for 14 years. He has a Bachelor of arts in Bible and Theology from Global University, and is also a graduate of Haggai Institute in Singapore. He has also completed his Masters in Biblical studies from Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology.
He is closely associated with International Christian Ministries and Family Impact Africa where he serves on the Board of Directors. He is the founder of Eldoret Happy Church which has several branches in western Kenya. He conducts many leadership trainings and seminars within and outside Kenya, including Parenting workshops and Enjoy your Marriage weekends for Family Impact Africa.
